SUNDAY NIGHT STAND-OFF - Huntington police have taken three people into custody after a three hour stand-off.

Police surrounded a house on the 1100 block of 12th Street Sunday evening where a man allegedly robbed someone at gun point and then ran into the house.

This happened on the south side of Huntington near Ritter Park.

Roads surrounding the house had been blocked off. Some homes were evacuated.

ROBBER JUMPS INTO RIVER - A man believed to be behind a robbery jumped into the Kanawha River.

The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department responded to a robbery call at Conley's Hair Styling at 1:30 p.m. Saturday

A worker there claims a man held a knife to her throat and demanded money.

The Sheriff's Department says the man was Jason Scarberry.

Deputies were able to track down Scarberry, but he hit one of them and took off again.

That's when he jumped into the Kanawha River.

After spending close to half an hour in the water, police were finally able to use a boat to catch him near the Kanawha City side of the river.

He is being charged with grand larceny and armed robbery.

Scarberry was taken to the hospital and treated for exposure.

RAND PURSE ROBBERY - A man pulled a silver handgun on a woman, Saturday and took off with her purse in Rand.

Dispatchers say two men walked up to a woman, showed her the gun, took her purse and then ran away.

The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department responded and are now looking for the two men.

RITE-AID ROBBED IN KANAWHA - Police are looking for a man behind an armed robbery at a Rite Aid on MacCorkle Avenue mid-morning Sunday.

Police say a man walked into the store and pulled out a gun. He demanded prescription drugs from a clerk.

Police are reviewing the surveillance video.
