Mary V. Kramer, 97 - Parkersburg

Mary V. Kramer, 97, passed away at her home in Parkersburg, West Virginia, on February 25, 2009.

She was born in Calhoun County, WV, on April 7, 1911.

She was a graduate of Williamstown High School and the University of Maryland School of Nursing in 1937. After doing private duty for years, she worked at St. Joseph's Hospital and before retiring in 1976, she began the epidemiology department.

She loved playing bridge and one group of nurses have played for 60 years. She has been an active member of St. Francis Xavier serving as Eucharist minister for years.

She joins her husband, Henry, who passed away in August 2008, to celebrate 75 years of marriage in April.

She is survived by three children, Henry J. and wife, Conchita, of Shepherdstown, WV, Fred C. and wife, Rita, of Houston, Texas, and Mary Ellen and husband, Jack, of Bridgeport, WV; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Eric Hall as celebrant. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with a Rosary Service at 7 p.m.
