Calhoun County residents and businesses who have received notification of their new physical address from the USPS can now request the installation of an E-911 locator sign.

The signs will be installed at or near the access point of a residence.

The signs will be installed by volunteer firefighters for a $10 donation.

If anyone chooses to purchase and install a sign themselves, it must be placed on the same side of the road as the home or business.

Installation of the sign on a mailbox that is on the opposite side of the road from the home or business is not acceptable, as this will make it difficult for first responders to find a location in case of an emergency.
