TITLE I HOSTS BULLYING WORKSHOP

Submitted by Tami Allen Title 1 hosted a parent workshop on bullying at Arnoldsburg Elementary School February 13. Presenters Lisa Groves and Patsy Kisner from the Parent Educator Resource Center (PERC) provided the eight parents in attendance with information on teaching your children how to deal with bullies. Some of the suggestions are: 1. Keep an open line of communication with your children. 2. Recognize warning signs: withdrawing, not wanting to go to school, sad all the time. 3. Teach your children how to use their words - "I don't like it when you...Stop doing it." 4. When telling a teacher or adult, state as many details as possible.
