Daniel W. "Danny" Cline, 54 - Spencer

Daniel W. "Danny" Cline, 54, of Spencer, West Virginia, entered into rest Monday, February 16, 2009, at his home, after an extended illness.

Danny was born July 26, 1954 at Spencer, the son of Doris J. Atkinson Cline and the late Jimmy Eugene Cline of Spencer.

He was a 27 year employee of Casto & Harris, with an extensive clientele of friends throughout the state of West Virginia. Danny was a 1972 graduate of Spencer High School. He played baseball and was a member of Coach Bill Camp's winning varsity basketball teams.

In the community, Danny coached Little League Baseball and Small Fry Basketball and participated in the Relay-for-Life. Also, he was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Spencer where he was Sunday school superintendent, trustee, a member of the choir and "Exaltation" singing group. In his spare time, he enjoyed golf, basketball and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Debbie; daughter and son-in-law, Danelle and Russ McCray of Hurricane, daughter, Whitney Cline of Spencer; son, Brandon Cline of Barboursville; and granddaughter, Taylor McCray.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 19 at 1:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Spencer, with the Rev. Michael F. "Mike" King officiating. Burial will be in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer. Friends may call at the church Wednesday from 5-9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Spencer, "Relay-for-Life", 338 Main St., Spencer or Johns Hopkins University, "In memory of Daniel W. Cline," 1 Charles Centre, Suite 409, 100 North Charles St., Baltimore, MD 21201.
