(02/16/2009)
Allegheny Power is reporting that service has been restored to all their Calhoun County customers Sunday evening.

The company says there are about 500 customers still without electric in their West Virginia service area.

A major power outage occurred Wednesday night when high winds swept across the state.

Allegheney's web site said they received 45 trouble calls from different locations for Calhoun county's 4,662 customers.

At one time, over 2,000 county customers were without electric. Winds gusted between 50-75 miles per hour.

Appalachian Power and Allegheny Energy said 220,000 tri-state customers lost electricity.
