Last night's wind storm that swept over the county packed a pretty big punch.

The Hur Herald wind gage showed winds at 50 mph, but other regional sources said the winds gusted at over 70 mph.

It downed large numbers of trees, many of them falling on power lines and disrupting service or blocking highways.

The power company said this morning 2,041 customers do not have service in the region, including sections located at or close to Grantsville, Brohard, Arnoldsburg, Chloe, Orma, Mt. Zion, Big Bend, Millstone, and Nebo.

Information regarding how much service has been restored was not available late afternoon.
