FORMER 101-YEAR-OLD CALHOUN WOMAN DIES - Agnes Susie Whipkey Smith

A former Calhoun woman, Agnes Susie Whipkey Smith, has died at age 101.

She was born July 1, 1907, in Calhoun County, W.Va., the daughter of the late Abe and Daisy Church Whipkey.

She was a resident of Caldwell, Ohio.

Susie worked for 15 years at Economy Industries, Harrisville, W.Va., and was a member of the Smithville Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, with the Rev. Loran Dace officiating. Burial will follow in the Westfall Cemetery, Smithville, W.Va. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She is survived by daughters, Thermal Lee Barnhart of Caldwell and Fejeana S. Evans of Mineral Wells; son, Everett B. Smith of Oceana, W.Va.; sisters, Thelma Lowe of Mongalia, Pa., and Elma Wright of Parkersburg; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Blaine Smith; an infant child; sons, Thurman Smith and Blondon E. Smith; two sisters; and three brothers.
