RECESSION WATCH: Glass Makers, Railroad And Plant Workers Lose Jobs

PLANT CLOSING FINALIZED - A Taylor County manufacturer has announced plans to close AGC Flat Glass for good, putting 232 people out of work. The company put the plant in a holding pattern two weeks ago.

The plant primarily produced glass for automakers. Company officials say there's simply not enough demand to keep the plant open.

RAILROAD WORKERS SLOWDOWN - Another local company announced temporary layoffs.

Norfolk and Southern furloughed 29 workers at the Williamson rail yard in Mingo County.

WOOD COUNTY PLANT SHUTTING DOORS - PCI Industries in Mineral Wells is shutting its doors for good. PCI specializes in manufacturing louvers and sunshades.

An employee says the plant has 30 workers. Their final day is February 27th.

The plant is closing due to the slumping economy. Employees says no benefits or other job opportunities are being offered at this point.
