FORMER WIRT MAN ARRESTED IN GEORGIA FOR SEX CRIMES

(01/29/2009)
A former Wirt County man wanted on dozens of sex crime charges was picked up Wednesday morning in Georgia.

The U.S. Marshal's Office in Charleston says Harley D. Lott Sr. was arrested in Walton County, Georgia at an auto shop where he had been working.

They say Lott faces 39 counts of incest, four counts of sexual abuse by a parent/guardian/custodian, and three counts of third degree sexual assault.

U.S. Marshals say they got a tip last summer that led them to Lott's location.

The U.S. Marshal's Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force (SERFTF) worked with the Wirt County Sheriff's Office to catch Lott.

He will be extradited to West Virginia.
