KANAWHA MAN SHOT TO DEATH - Kanawha County sheriff's deputies have identified 41-year-old David Leonard Scarbro as the person shot to death Monday night in Chelyan.

Initial reports said Scarbro had been shot in the head, but Crosier said he appeared to have been shot in the upper body.

Police said that Scarbro was the victim of an armed robbery in November. They said two armed men forced their way into Scarbro's home, threatened him and family members with a gun and took some money.

Police believed the robbery was drug-related and that could be what happened Monday.

Scarbro was also charged in December with possession of OxyContin with intent to deliver.

Police found the drugs after they accompanied a Child Protective Services worker into Scarbro's home to check on his teenage daughter.

Scarbro was also arrested on Christmas Day for several traffic violations, driving on a suspended license and fleeing police.

MORGANTOWN ARMED ROBBERY - Morgantown police are investigating an armed robbery at the Saberton Exxon station Monday night.

A white man, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and a mask, robbed the service station.

He had a revolver and got away with about $250.

This was the second time someone robbed the station in about three months.

"At first I was angry, really really angry. But now I'm getting scared for the safety of my employees to be honest. I hope whoever it was puts their life together and quits making people feel scared. People need to be safe," said the station manager.
