MOUNTAIN FURY AND LITTLE ROY PROVIDE RIP ROARIN' ENTERTAINMENT

(01/19/2009)

THE ENTERTAINERS - Mountain Fury (L to R) Eileen Marsh,
Robin Singleton, Rachel Singleton, Lizzy Long and Little Roy

Performers give a rip-roarin' show

Mountain Fury and their special guest Little Roy Lewis packed the Bear Fork Trading Post Saturday night, providing a high-energy, well-tuned show.

Famous Little Roy Lewis from the Lewis Family Band, America's first family of bluegrass, appeared with the all-female group, which began at Glenville State College.

Mountain Fury is among the most popular bluegrass bands in the state.

Rachel Singleton, a Summersville West Virginia native, is a state mandolin champion, and a great singer.

Multi-talented musician Elizabeth Long, a Lincolnton, Georgia native, adds a little comedy along with her banjo, fiddle, auto harp, and guitar pickin'.

Hailing from Linn, West Virginia, Eileen Marsh adds guitar, some deep voiced vocals and often cracks some jokes, usually at Elizabeth's expense.

The group is rounded out by a new bass player, Rachel's little sister, Robin Singleton, who adds beautiful vocals that will send chills down your spine.

Mountain Fury loves what they do, making people smile with their music.

Little Roy Lewis is a consummate entertainer, recognized as one of the foremost five-string banjo pickers in the country. "I've been around for a long time," he said.
