SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE FOR STUDY OF MASSAGE THERAPY

Our Community's Foundation - the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation and the regional affiliates of Ritchie, Doddridge, Jackson, and Mason Counties and the Little Kanawha Area (Wirt and Calhoun Counties) - announces the availability of the David A. Couch Memorial scholarship for students who are committed to helping persons with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) or other neuromuscular diseases and who are pursuing the study of massage therapy, or a related field.

Applicants may reside in any of the counties served by the Foundation (Wood, Wirt, Jackson, Ritchie, Doddridge, Jackson, Pleasants, Roane, Gilmer, and Calhoun in West Virginia and Washington County, Ohio).

Applicants must be actively pursuing a course of study involving massage therapy, physical therapy, or occupational therapy, with preference given to those applicants studying massage therapy.

Recipients are selected on the basis of personal commitment to service for individuals whose lives are affected by ALS or other neuromuscular diseases as evidenced by related volunteer services to individuals affected by these diseases or to organizations serving individuals affected by these diseases.

Interested students need to complete Our Community's Foundation General Scholarship Application Form, indicating on the application that they are applying for the David A. Couch Memorial Scholarship.

The application can be accessed on the Foundation's web site www.pacfwv.com and can be filled out and submitted online.
