GSC TO HONOR DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING

Glenville, WV - Glenville State College will be honoring the life and contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Tuesday, January 20 at 6 p.m. in the Mollohan Campus Community Center Multipurpose Room.

Monday, January 19 is Martin Luther King Day, and Glenville State College will be closed in observance of the federal holiday.

The Student Activities Office encourages all students, faculty, staff, as well as the general public to join together to celebrate the life and legacy of a man who promoted the principles of courage, truth, justice, compassion, dignity, humility, education to all and the importance of service to community.

The guest speaker for the ceremony will be Dr. Clifton Moore of Thorpe WV and will include remarks from students, faculty and staff and a focus on how each of us can help continue the spirit of service.

Dr. King's Holiday is seen around the world as a "Day of Service" and a time to reflect on how each of us can serve our communities.

On Wednesday January 21, a Service Day Project will be held at Glenville State College in the Mollohan Campus Community Center Lobby from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with Hospice of Burnsville, West Virginia.
