Quick action by family members saved a family home at the head of Leafbank Road early today.

What appeared to be an electrical fire broke out in the second story walls of the Jeffery and Sherry Farrell residence about 6:30 a.m., discovered by Zach Farrell and his brother Douglas.

"I woke up and saw the flames and smoke in my room," said Douglas, who awakened family members.

Family members used several gallons of bottled water and a garden hose to attack the blaze, while others carried belongings out of the house, said Sherry Farrell.

The house is located up a steep hillside, covered this morning by snow and ice with 15 degree temperatures.

The Grantsville VFD got a truck to the scene and used water to finish the job.

"The kids did a great job," said Farrell.
