Garnet Marie (Kelley) Barr, 73 - Grantsville

Garnet Marie (Kelley) Barr, 73, of Grantsville, West Virginia, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 9, 2009 after complications from treatment for acute leukemia.

She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Ednal (Harden) Kelley and a brother, Larry Kelley.

Surviving are her husband of 54 years, David Barr; four sons, Fred Wayne Ward of Raleigh, NC; Vance Barr of Grantsville; Mark Barr of Grantsville; Brent Barr of Grantsville; one daughter, Christine Barr of Nitro, WV; six grandchildren, Kristopher Ward, Tracie (Barr) Hosey, Amy Barr, Tiffany Barr, Kayla Barr, Shana Starkey; two great-grandchildren, Autumn Skaggs and Amera Hosey: three sisters, Katie Matheny of Michigan, Betty Craddock of Grantsville, Dessel Bower of Michigan; one brother, Jerry Kelley of Grantsville; and many other family and friends. Garnet was a life-time member of Cherry Fork United Methodist Church.

The family would like to thank CAMC Memorial doctors and nurses who cared for Garnet, Minnie Hamilton Health System, especially Dr. Kevak, and the many friends and loved ones who held her and her family close in thoughts and prayers.

In accordance with her wishes, Garnet's body was cremated and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
