He was born February 6, 1947, at Looneyville, the son of Pearl Boggs Summerfield of Looneyville and the late Bailey Woodrow Summerfield.

He was a retired teacher, who had taught at Geary School, Left Hand and a farmer.

In addition to his mother, survivors include a sister, Joyce Zerkle of Mechanicsburg, OH; two nephews, Clinton Fox of Springfield, OH and Russell Fox of Spencer; one niece, Lora Fox of Looneyville.

A funeral service will be held Friday, January 9 at 11:00 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer. Burial will be in the Summerfield Cemetery, Looneyville.

Friends may call Thursday, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
