James Edward Miller, 95 - Rosedale

James Edward Miller, 95, of Rosedale, West Virginia, went home to be with his Heavenly Father, December 27, 2008 at his home, surrounded by his loving wife and family.

Edward was born at Mill Fork, Braxton County, August 12, 1913 to William Benson and Myrtle Young Miller.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Georgia C. McCourt Miller, and 9 children, Roger Miller, Elaine (Buck) White, Fred (Vickie) Miller, Benny (Evelyn) Miller, Adrian (Angie) Miller all of Rosedale, Imogene (Joe) Muniz of Smithville, WV, Clarise (Jack) Burns of Millers Tavern, VA, Darlene (Jim) Rexroad of Sutton, WV, Linda (Kevin) Jones of Cedarville, WV.

He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, Linda Michelle Miller, Mike, Fred, Sherman and Ermine White, T.J. Muniz, Lisa Ludwig, Sara Miller, Amanda Miller, Brian and Jennifer Burns, Jessica Young, Gary and Justin Rexroad, Chris, Tony and Greg White, Douglas and Caleb Miller, Chrissy and Julie Leeson; 13 great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 8 step great grandchildren, and 2 step great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Molly Costlow of Clarksburg, WV, and Gladys McCumbers of Rosedale.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

He was a US Army Veteran of WWII and served with the 286 Combat Engineer Battalion. He was a bridge carpenter, and was awarded the Army Occupational Medal (Germany) Good Conduct Medal, American Theatre Ribbon, European, African, and Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon. He attended the Mill Fork Community Church.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 30 at the Rosedale United Methodist Church. Rev. Dewey Tanner will officiate. Interment will be in the Mill Fork Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services.

Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg is in charge of arrangements.
