WEST VIRGINIA HAD LOWEST VOTER TURN OUT IN 2008 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

West Virginia and Hawaii led the nation with the lowest turn-out for the 2008 General Election.

West Virginia had a 50.6 percent turnout, Minnesota had the highest with 77.8 percent.

Lincoln County had the lowest at 37 percent.

Otherwise, it was a near record turn-out for a presidential race in the USA.

A record 61.6 percent of the the nation's eligible voters went to the polls, the highest since 1969, Nixon vs. Humphrey.
