Kathryn L. McClain, 93 - Rittman, Ohio

Kathryn L. McClain, 93, of Rittman, died Friday, December 5, 2008, at Doylestown Health Care Center.

She was born April 16, 1915, in Calhoun County, W.Va., to Holly and Arminda (Coen) Moss and married Howard McClain. He preceded her in death.

Kathryn had made her home in Rittman since 1983, and was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting afghans, quilting and reading. She also made "lap covers" for residents of local nursing homes, and made "silkies" for area children.

She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Elana, W.Va.

Surviving are daughters, Catherine Wertz of Rittman and Glennis "Cricket" (Casey) Conley of Marshallville; sons, Dale (Judy) McClain of Creston and John McClain of Spencer, W.Va.; two stepdaughters; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren; a brother, George Moss of Haverhill, Mass.; and a sister, Donnas Coulter of New Philadelphia.

In addition to her husband; two grandchildren; a brother, Glen Moss; and a sister, Myrtle Lance, died previously.

Graveside services were held Monday, Dec. 8, at Zion Hill Baptist Cemetery in Elana, Roane County, W.Va.
