Verba May King, 97, of Kimbolton, Ohio, passed away Monday, December 8, 2008 at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge, Ohio. She was born October 1, 1911 in Calhoun County, WV, a daughter of the late James and Alice Butler Sears. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frances D. King, one son, Basil King; a daughter, Sharon Farley; 4 sisters, Ruth Brown, Orma Criss, Hazel Kreigbaum and Nelsie Millard; and 3 brothers, Ray, Sherwood, and Shirley Sears. Surviving are 2 daughters, Shirley Ann (Steve) Whiting of Spencer, WV, and Charlotte Jean (Marshall) Drake of Kimbolton; sons, Vaughn (Rachel) King of Mogadore, Ohio, and Benny King of Akron, Ohio; a sister, Nell Jarvis of Spencer; 16 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, December 12 at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, WV. Rev. Russell Stump will officiate. Interment will be in the Houchin Cemetery at Arnoldsburg. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
