The annual Apple Celebration is going on in the second grade classrooms of Mrs. Hicks and Mrs. Webb at Arnoldsburg Elementary.

The class is reading the story of Johnny Appleseed and are now involved with the learning activities that go along with it.

Students have been making place mats, writing paragraphs that go with their apple wheels, making books that tell the sequential order of Johnny's life, watching videos about Johnny Appleseed, and making graphs and charts showing their favorite apples.

The activity they are most looking forward to is sampling homemade apple butter, biscuits, and applesauce that will be made in the classroom.

As Johnny's ten half brothers and sisters say, "Apple juice and apple butter, apple sauce and apple cobbler, my, oh my, sweet apple pie! Yummmmmmmmmm!

Second grade students enjoy sampling all the tasty treats
