WEST VIRGINIA WATER CO. BEING SOLD TO GERMAN CONCERN - Public Service Commission Open For Comments

West Virginia-American Water Company, which now owns several water companies around West Virginia, is requesting permission from the West Virginia Public Service Commission to sell their concerns to a German-based company. The total amount for the sale is $7.6 billion, which includes 26 other subsidiaries in 23 states.

Most of the West Virginia water companies were built with taxpayer money.

American Water has annual revenues of $1.4 billion, and is the largest publicly traded water company in the country.
