ROBERT WHITLATCH - Parkersburg

Robert E. Whitlatch, 62, of Parkersburg, died December 18, 2001, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 21, 1939, a son of the late James Dorr and Alma J. Roach Whitlatch. He was retired from GE Plastics with more than 30 years of service.

He was a lifetime member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Methodist Men and secretary of the Crusaders Sunday School Class.

He was a veteran of the U.S. National Guard and a graduate of Eastern High School, where he played basketball and football.

He was also an avid golfer, enjoyed boating, car shows and most of all, his family.

He is survived by one son, Jay Whitlatch of Huntington, WV; one daughter, Debra Ann Eddy and her husband, Joe of Wheeling, WV; one brother, J.D. Whitlatch and his wife, Marsha Jean of Vienna, WV; his fiancee, Terri Bond of Parkersburg; one niece, Kelli Beymer of Hopewell, VA.; and several other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Leavitt Funeral Home of Parkersburg. Reverend James Burdette of Trinity United Methodist Church and Reverend William DeMoss of Christ United Methodist Church of Wheeling, WV will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens with military graveside rites by the American Legion Post 15. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
