RITCHIE WATER BOARD GETS $128,000 GRANT

State Director Rick E. Rice has announced that Rural Development approved a Water and Waste Disposal Direct Loan in the amount of $128,000 for Hughes River Water Board, Ritchie County, WV. The Hughes River Water Board currently serves the Town of Harrisville, the Town of Cairo, and the City of Pennsboro with water service. Rural Development funds will be used to install a belt filter press at the water plant to replace the existing sludge bagging system. "This will alleviate an emergency situation to dispose of waste sludge. This subsequent Rural Development loan covers a construction cost overrun," added Rice.
