MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING CALHOUN COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION DECEMBER 17, 2001 STATE OF WEST VIRGINIA: COUNTY OF CALHOUN: At the Arnoldsburg School, Arnoldsburg, West Virginia; Monday, December 17, 2001 MEMBERS PRESENT: Juanita Berdine, Ralph Cunningham, Richard Fitzwater, Carlene Frederick, and Burl Simers Ronald Blankenship, Secretary ABSENT: None The meeting was called to order by President, Richard Fitzwater at 7:00 p.m. MINUTES: Mr. Cunningham moved and Mrs. Frederick seconded that the minutes of the December 3, 2001 meeting be approved. Motion carried unanimously. The Arnoldsburg School LSIC made a presentation to the Board concerning their local school improvement plan. NEW BUSINESS: Mrs. Frederick moved and Mr. Simers seconded that Wayne Denham be approved as a volunteer for Calhoun Middle/High School. Motion carried unanimously. PERSONNEL: Upon the Superintendent's recommendation, Mr. Cunningham moved and Mrs. Berdine seconded that the following matters be approved: A. Job Postings 1. Follies Director (Lights On) 2. Administrative Assistant-Follies (Lights On) 3. Dance and Theater Assistant-Follies (Lights On) 4. Special Assistant-Follies (Lights On) 5. Sound Technician-Follies (Lights On) 6. Lighting Technician-Follies (Lights On) B Employment 1. Dan Cosgrove - Tutor Coordinator/Teacher - Arnoldsburg School (Effective December 4, 2001) 2. Ralph E. Ehnstrom - Basic Computer Operations and Introduction to Programming (Lights On) 3. Zane Gherke - Basic Computer Repairs and Troubleshooting (Lights On) 4. Sarah Gherke - Child Care Attendant (Lights On) 5. Shannon Jones - Tutor (Lights On) 6. Tiffany Jones - Tutor (Lights On) 7. Erin Smith - Tutor (Lights On)  C. Dwayne Yatauro - Additional Two Years Prior Service D. Resignation - James S. West Motion carried unanimously. FINANCE: Mr. Cunningham moved and Mrs. Frederick seconded that the following financial matters be approved: A. Invoices - $208,986.79 B. Supplements - $97,159.76 C. Transfer - $4,047.47 D. Financial Report - November 2001 Motion carried unanimously. ADJOURNMENT: Mr. Cunningham moved and Mr. Simers seconded that the meeting adjourn at 8:08 p.m. with the next meeting January 7, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at the Board of Education Office. Motion carried unanimously.
