Mrs. Keen discusses Cuban lifestyles with Pleasant Hill students

Pleasant Hill School students were treated to "The Island Flavor of Cuba," presented by Mrs. Keen, Friday.

The presentation consisted of informing students about the life styles of the Cuban people. She discussed Cubans' passion for coffee, their housing, and the role of the government in their lives. A video clip was shown regarding Cuban children's school ritual as well. The session ended with Mrs. Keen teaching the students a favorite Cuban dance, the Conga.

Glenville State College students visited Pleasant Hill School Monday, distributed books to every classroom. Students and staff would like to say thank you.

Pleasant Hill Elementary will have Read to Me Day, November 20. Parents and community members are encouraged to volunteer to read to a classroom. If you would like to read to a classroom, please contact the school office at 354-6022.

Title I will be hosting a Pie Social for kindergarten parents on November 19 at 2 p.m. Kindergarten will be making pilgrim costumes and parading throughout the school. This will be followed by a presentation by the Parent Resource Center.
