Arnold C. Mace, 78 - Spencer

Arnold C. Mace, 78, of Spencer, West Virginia, died November 5, 2008 at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV.

He was born August 7, 1930 in Roane County, a son of the late Gay and Beulah Church Mace. He was retired from the Spencer State Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Romaine Carpenter Mace; two sons, Charles Edward Mace and his wife Nancy of Stem, North Carolina and William Brian Mace and his wife Valarie of Rocksboro, North Carolina; five step children, Terry Stotts, Jennifer Moore, David, Michael, and Joseph Carpenter; a brother, Larry Mace of St. Albans, WV; two grandchildren, Dalton and Jaylen Mace; step grandchildren, Sarah, Austin, Logan, Seth, John, Joey, Jason, Chad, Josh, Brandy, Cathy, Chris, Jordan, Nathan, Melissa, Nick, Kayla, and Krista; 23 step great grandchildren; several nephews and one niece.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Garland and Ronald; a step grandchild; and a nephew.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 8, 2008 at the Eventide Cemetery, with Bill Walton officiating.

Visiting hours were held Friday evening at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer.
