SUPER-DRY CONDITIONS KINDLES ROANE BRUSH FIRE

(11/04/2008)
Roane County volunteer firemen have been fighting a pesky brush fire, off and on for several days.

The super-dry conditions have allowed about 30 acres to be destroyed in the Windyville-Stover section of the county.

Spencer-Roane firemen fought the fire nearly all night, when it was first reported late last week.

Since then firemen have returned to the scene for a rekindle, including last night.

Firemen remained on the scene battling the blaze several hours Monday evening through midnight.
