A BIG DEER SEASON AHEAD

(11/01/2008)
The West Virginia DNR is predicting a big deer kill season this year, saying the biological conditions are right.

West Virginia hunters are hoping to cut down on the family grocery bill by killing extra deer.

Paul Johansen of the DNR says bow hunters are buying more stamps that allow them to kill extra deer.

He says that trend could continue through the buck, doe and muzzleloader seasons.

The DNR says there are more deer.

Johansen says rain last year kept many hunters out of the woods and many deer in hiding.
