A record number of Calhoun voters have cast early ballots, according to County Clerk Richard Kirby.

Over 500 citizens had already voted in the clerk's office by Thursday.

Also, a record number of citizens have registered to vote in Tuesday's general election, said Kirby.

A total of 5,483 voters are registered, which includes 3,483 Democrats, 1,225 Republicans, 48 Independents, with the rest attached to other parties.
