Everett W. Shamblin, 81 of Augusta, Georgia, formerly of Mt. Zion, WV died December 11 in the
Veterans Administration Hospital, Augusta, Georgia.
Born at Ivydale, Clay County, WV, he was a son of the late Willie and Stella Jane Jarvis
Shamblin. He was a former employee of Goodyear Aircraft of Akron, Ohio. He was a U.S. Army
Veteran of W.W.II having served in the Philippine Islands and South Korea. He was a 32nd
Degree Mason and was a life member of the American Legion Post #21 of Spencer.
Surviving Mr. Shamblin are three daughters, Kathryn Buckey of Akron, Ohio, Brenda Stump of
Nebo, WV and Christine Smith of Akron; four brothers, Bill Shamblin of Uniontown, Ohio, Ralph
Shamblin of Akron, Roscoe Friend of Evergreen and Larry Shamblin of California; seven sisters,
Nora Pascarella of Pompano Beach, Florida, Gladys Boyer and Audrey Schlagenhauser both of
Akron, Tillie Knight and Ruth Stagg both of Augusta, Georgia, Anna Mae Moore and Oleta
Friend both of Deepwater, WV.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 15 at 10:30 a.m. at Stump Funeral Home,
Arnoldsburg. Reverend Dewey Tanner will officiate. Interment will be in the Nebo Baptist
Church Cemetery at Nebo, WV. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the
services. Military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #21 of spencer,
WV.
