DQ HOLDUP IN SOUTH WILLIAMSON - It was a scary night at a Dairy Queen in South Williamson. Shortly after midnight, a man walked up to the counter wanting more than an ice cream cone.

Police say he was armed, the man went into the back of the restaurant, forcing the manager to open the safe.

The suspect took cash and ran away.

FORMER MARSHALL PLAYER HOMICIDE SUSPECT - A former Marshall University linebacker has been identified as a suspect in a double homicide that occurred in Jacksonville, Florida, according to authorities and the Florida Times-Union.

Alonzo Maurice Jones, 29, will be charged in connection with the case, said Ken Jefferson, senior public information officer for the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

An officer spotted Jones in a cemetery holding an assault rifle.

News reports said the officer ordered Jones to drop the weapon, but he refused. Jones walked toward the officer, and the officer shot Jones in the leg.

Jones is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The double homicide killed Jones' girlfriend, Jihan Simirah Borders, 27, and Charles E. Borders, 60, according to a newspaper.

The newspaper reports that Jihan Borders had filed a domestic violence protection request against Jones.

MAN SHOT WHILE BREAKING INTO CAR - WSAZ-TV has reported a shooting in neighboring Ohio, where a man attempting to break into a car was shot and killed.

Sheriff Marty Donini says his office is investigating the shooting death of Timothy L. Reese, 21, of South Webster, Ohio.

Sheriff Donini says Reese was shot after a confrontation with a resident who had caught him attempting to break into a car.

Deputies say they believe this was a case of self-defense.

CHARLESTON STABBING - One person is in the hospital and another is in jail after a stabbing in Charleston Saturday. It happened on Richard Street about 1 p.m. One person was taken to the hospital.
