Heather and the girls Ruby and Lea visited a few nights with me. We had such a good time. Went fishing in the farm pond. Heather caught a big catfish using night crawlers. A worm on a bobber. Fishing is good there. I caught four healthy blue gills and enjoyed fishing with Buddy the dog. He gets so excited.

Maureen Hardman, Mary and Sherri Moore attended the Democratic event in Charleston. Three generations. Grandmother, mother and daughter. Mary was happy to shake Hillary Clinton's hand. Last week Mary also was present at the candle light service and funeral of Jamie Scott Nicholas of Clay county. Nicholas died for his country in this never ending war.

Ernest Edgell visited with me on Monday. He drove from Richlands, Virginia to attend the funeral of Deloris Jarvis Bias. Sorry I was unable to go. Deloris was a happy person and I loved seeing her laugh. Ernest brought me some white oak splits so I can replace seats for a couple of these old rocking chairs. I'm thankful.

I still have hollyhocks blooming even through these first two nights of frost. It's cold. Coats and gloves, and long johns for hunting. I have to get out and enjoy the outdoors.

I went for a moonlight walk in the meadow at 4:30 a.m. on the full moon. I was going up Walker but the cats were following me and I couldn't let them go on route 16. I love the moonlight. The Hunter's Moon. It's amazing how you can see everything.

The hen is laying up under the forsythia bushes and the eggs were broken. Wonder what got them. The pigs are getting big. You can scratch behind their ears and they just lay down. The rooster has grown winter tail feathers and he is just beautiful.

Everyone have a wonderful week!
