GILMER MAN ARRESTED FOR SHOOTING GIRLFRIEND'S SON

Steven Francis, 55, of Gilmer County has been arrested for shooting his girlfriend's son. The Gilmer County Sheriff's Department says Francis shot Derrick Chavez in the arm, following a domestic dispute. Chavez was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, the extent of his injuries are unknown. Francis is charged with wanton endangerment, but he could be facing additional charges. The Sheriff's Department also said there may be another arrest made in connection with the shooting. Francis has been released on $25,000 bond.
