Milfred G. Campbell - Battle Creek, Michigan

Milfred G. "Gus" Campbell, age 85, of Battle Creek, died October 8, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. Formerly of Bridgeport, West Virginia, he was born in Grantsville, WV on May 15, 1923 to Guss and Veda (Morrison) Campbell. Gus graduated from high school in Lumberport, WV. He attended college at Potomic State College (WV) and Fairmont State College (WV) and received his masters degree at West Virginia University. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific. He retired from Consolidated Natural Gas Co. (now, Dominion Resources) and was a member of the Vienna, WV, Masonic Lodge. Gus is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Marjorie A. Campbell. He is survived by his son, B. Douglas Campbell and his wife, Sandy of Battle Creek and by three grandchildren, Stephen Campbell, Christen Campbell both of Battle Creek and Gregory Rousos of Florida. Also surviving is his brother, Gary Campbell and his wife, Carol of Parkersburg, WV and two nieces, Marsha Campbell and Dana Hubbard. He was a member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church in Bridgeport, WV where memorial services will take place and committal will be in the Shinnston Masonic Cemetery (WV) at a later date.
