ORMA MAN PLACED ON PROBATION AFTER STEALING CASE OF BEER

An Orma man has been arrested in Spencer after stealing a case of beer. Joshua Semler, 29, according to a court report, stole a case of beer from the refrigerator of Barry Jones. Police said the man had already consumed the beer by the time he was arrested. Semler pled guilty to the petit larceny charge in Roane Circuit Court. Judge Thomas Evans III sentenced Semler to 12 months in jail, but suspended the sentence, giving him two years probation. He was given credit for 73 days already served in jail.
