LACK OF RAINFALL BREAKING RECORDS

Rainfall in September was the least on record in many years, as dry conditions become more apparent in the region. The Times Record-Roane County Reporter, says the rainfall in Spencer for the month of September was the lowest in over a hundred years. With the leaves beginning to fall, the hazard of forest fires is at high risk. Regular burning restrictions started October 1. On ridges where water is a critical problem, owners are calling for water to be delivered. Showers are in the forecast later this week.
