A Clay County native, Sergeant First Class Jamie Nicholas was killed in action Monday in Afghanistan.

Nicholas, 33, died when a roadside bomb exploded.

Two other soldiers were also killed.

Nicholas who had been stationed in Fort Bragg, N.C. was a career soldier, a member of the 7th Special Forces Airborne group on his second tour in Afghanistan.
