FREDA O'DELL BROWN - Parkersburg

Freda O'Dell Brown, 89, of Worthington Manor, Parkersburg went to be with her Savior, Wednesday, December 5, 2001.

She was born February 11, 1912, in Clay County, a daughter of the late John William and Frances Murphy Absher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Issac R. O'Dell and her second husband, Hobert Brown; two daughters, Frances O'Dell Bowers and Kathryn O'Dell House; one stepson, five grandchildren, five sisters and three brothers.

She was a homemaker and devout Christian. She was the last surviving sibling in her family and a long time resident of Roane County. She was a member of Gandee Chapel and had formerly attended Newton Baptist Church, Spencer Tabernacle and Spencer Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include, four sons, David O'Dell of Wanatah, IN. Donald O'Dell of Michigan city, IN, Lewis O'Dell and John O'Dell both of Amma; three daughters, Dolly McGlothlin of Canton, Ohio, Sue Jury and Carole Easton both of Parkersburg; a stepdaughter, Goldie Smith of Stow, Ohio; 33 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, December 8 at 1 p.m. at Gandee Chapel with the Reverend Garry L. Bowen officiating. Burial will be in the Ward Cemetery, Spencer.

Friends may call at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and at the church one hour prior to service on Saturday.
