Driver and passenger escape serious injury after truck crashes into woods

A third accident marred the Labor Day weekend in Calhoun.

An 18-year-old male driver and a 17-year-old female passenger escaped serious injury when their truck likely hit loose gravel in a sharp turn in front of Pleasant Hill UM Church, crashing over an embankment and landing in the woods.

The vehicle was heavily damaged.

Both the driver and passenger were taken to Minnie Hamilton Health System in Grantsville by Calhoun EMS for evaluation.

The Grantsville VFD responded to the 8:57 p.m. Monday incident, with Cpl. Jeff Hunt of the State Police.
