YOU COULD SAVE 6% ON ENERGY SAVINGS APPLIANCES THIS WEEK

(09/01/2008)
You could say 6% on some big ticket appliances this week in WV.

It's the ENERGY STAR sales tax holiday.

For one week, if you buy an energy efficient appliance with the ENERGY STAR rating, you will not pay the state's six percent sales tax on the purchase.

The sales tax holiday will apply to certain ENERGY STAR qualified products valued at $2,500 or less.

Tangible personal property for use in a trade or business is not subject to the sales tax holiday.

The State Legislature approved the sales tax holiday, a proposal from Governor Joe Manchin, earlier this year.
