POLICE CHASE CROSSES FOUR COUNTIES - Clay, Calhoun, Roane, Kanawha

(08/30/2008)
State Police in Clay County reported they were in pursuit of a driver in a pick-up truck on State Route 16, with the vehicle coming north into Calhoun.

The officer asked for assistance to stop the vehicle about 10 p.m. Cpl. Doug Starcher joined in what appeared to be a slow-speed chase, and was shortly joined by Cpl. Jeff Hunt.

The three officers continued the chase on US 33-119 from the Arnoldsburg "Y" into Spencer, where two other State Police cruisers reportedly join the effort to stop the truck.

Reports indicate the truck struck or side-swiped a vehicle, traveling down US 119 toward Walton and Clendenin.

The truck, according to scanner reports, wrecked near Clendenin, where the subject was reportedly apprehended.

It was not known what initiated the chase.
