HUNTINGTON WOMAN MURDERED - Huntington Police have arrested and charged a man with the murder of a woman, Monday.

Police say the victim is 58-year-old Kathryn Smith.

Police say 51-year-old Robert Frazier has been charged with Smith's death.

Police had received a tip earlier Monday evening about a domestic assault, which led to them finding Smith's body.

Police records say a cooperating witness who was at the house at the time told police that the suspect and the victim were in a verbal argument when the suspect picked up a shotgun and fired one shot.

MAN ROBS STORE - A Mill Creek man is lodged in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail after attempting to rob a convenience store in Valley Bend.

Michael Joshua Taylor was apprehended at his home without incident by the Randolph County Sheriff's Department.

The Sheriff's Department responded to an armed robbery call at the Country Store in Valley Bend at 8:11 p.m. Sunday.

A store clerk said Taylor entered the establishment wielding a knife and demanding money from the cash register.

After the cashier refused to comply, Taylor attempted to open the register to no avail.

Taylor fled the scene after more customers entered the store.

CHARLESTON MAN ARRESTED AFTER ROBBERY - Charleston Police say they arrested and charged Shawn Elmore of Alabama with robbery of State Credit Union.

His girlfriend, whose name has not been released, was allegedly driving the getaway car. She has been taken into custody.

Elmore was staying with some friends at Orchard Manor.

Detectives say they were able to trace an envelope Elmore used during the robbery back to that Orchard Manor apartment.

The envelope had a postal barcode printed on it and a blank note inside.

The State Credit Union was also robbed in 2000 and 2007.
