Grantsville firemen respond to suspicious fire on Big Root Road

A Big Root residence was a total loss early Sunday morning, with Joy Freshour and her three children losing all their possessions.

The family was not at home when the fire broke out.

A family member said "Even the children lost their school clothes. They lost everything."

The State Fire Marshal's office will be investigating the blaze, according to Grantsville Fire Chief Craig Gherke.

Family members, indicating the cause of the fire is suspicious, said "If you have any information on how this fire may have been started, please contact the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office at 354-6333."

Grantsville volunteer firemen responded to the call about 8 a.m., a report said the house was already on the ground.

There was no insurance on the structure.
