SCHOOL BOARD WILL DISCUSS SUPERINTENDENT-BOARD RELATIONS - Hazing, Bullying, Harassment Policy On Monday's Agenda

(08/25/2008)
The Calhoun Board of Education will meet 7 p.m. Monday evening at the Board office to approve graduation requirements, issues related to the Valedictorian and Salutatorian selection, grading and work-based learning.

An Orma parent, Sherry Patterson, has said she will be attending the board meeting to complain about an alleged incident related to her 16-year-old son while at football practice.

School re-opens in Calhoun Tuesday, with Calhoun High School going back to an 8-period day, after using a block scheduling system for several years.

An item indicates there will be a discussion regarding board-superintendent relations.

The agenda says the board will be reviewing or commenting on the Bullying, Harassment and Intimidation Policy and the Racial, Sexual, Religious/Ethnic Harassment, Violence and Hazing Policy.

A number of personnel items are on the agenda.

The board will be approving several student transfers and home school requests.

The next meeting is scheduled for September 8.
