What a wonderful summer we are having. Dog Days ought to set in wet. It's been beautiful this summer here in the country.

I cut Jennifer Yost's hair Sunday morning before she attended the Yost reunion at the Upper West Fork Community Center here in Chloe. Buddy Watkins was there and said there must have been more than fifty people. Everyone had a good time.

Susan Conrad, Candice, and their friend Cathy from Port Orange, FL visited with me. I cut Susan's and Candice's hair, we then had a nice lunch together. Susan brought a jar of homemade vegetable soup and a jar of brown beans, good bread and desert. That doesn't happen every day. It was a good thing.

Nice meeting Winifred White and her husband Larry who live on Granny She. Nice people.

My daughter Heather and her dad Robert drove to Morgantown to take Ruby to the dentist. She was put to sleep as the doctor worked on her teeth. She's not three years old. Blame it all on sippy cups. Long ago this would have never happened. Her teeth look great.

I've been canning tomato juice for days. Was fortunate to get five, five gallon buckets of tomatoes from Ohio. Tomatoes are so good for us. These pigs sure do love to eat the peelings.

Sweet Williams I got from Olga Postalwait are in full bloom and are beautiful. As were the Naked Ladies I also got from her. I love having plants from all the past little ladies. Jessie Hicks, Delphia Parsons, Olga, Aunt Verba, mother's sister Aunt Betty's Iris, and Mother's Easter Lillies that still bloom in the spring.

When Blaine King comes to visit he brings the cat's a special treat. All three of them meet him at the car. Blaine and I have coffee and watch them. Buddy always gets what Delphia's cat leaves behind. Blaine is doing alright and stays busy feeding horses and helping other people. We miss Daddy, Delphia, and Uncle Shirley.

Working on getting a mate for my rooster. Seems like everyone thinks he needs a woman, but he's doing good. He's seventeen months old and has never been touched by a human. I go feed him when he crows. Love having animals here.

This country is beautiful and I'm happy to be here.

Everyone have a wonderful week!
