Daniel "Dan" Pridemore, 75 - Newport, Michigan

Daniel "Dan" Pridemore, 75, of Newport, Michigan, died Friday, August 15, 2008, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Dan was born December 3, 1932, in Crooked Creek, MO, a son of the late Andrew and Clare Cheek Pridemore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and William Pridemore.

He was employed at Great Lakes Steel for 43 years as a welder operator, retiring in 1994. He had lived in the Gibraltar area for 30 years before moving to Newport in 1994.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Jones Pridemore, whom he married December 1, 1953, in Dearborn Heights, MI; son, Daniel Pridemore, Jr. of Newport, MI; grandson and fiancée Theodore Pridemore and Misty of Monroe, MI; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harry and Peggy Pridemore of Taylor, MI and John and Elizabeth Pridemore of California.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 20 at 11:00 a.m. in the Billy Hunt Cemetery, Ambler Ridge Rd., Walton.

John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, is in charge of local arrangements.
