Clara Jane Boggs, 86 - Beach City, Ohio

Clara Jane Boggs, 86, of Beach City, Ohio, formerly of Newton, died Sunday, August 17, 2008, in the Brewster Park Nursing Home, North Brewster, Ohio.

She was born January 25, 1922, in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Elza and Mary Murphy Finchman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry C. Boggs in 1964; two sons Raymond and Roy Boggs; four daughters, Gustie Gandee, Bonnie Cavender, Grace Lloyd and Myrtle Holly; five brothers, Cecil, Ed, Joe, Harvey and James Finchman; three sisters, Nelle Cottrell, Lora and Rose.

Clara was a homemaker and a member of the Newton Baptist Church, Newton.

Survivors include sons, Robert of Massillon, OH, Ronzel of Bellefontaine, OH, Doy and Dale both of Beach City, OH, Cecil and John both of Brewster, OH, Dallas, Homer, Wilbert and Walter Boggs all of Newton; daughters, Doris Osborne of Kentucky, Betty Collins of Pikeville, TN, Linda Rowland of Beach City, OH and Carolyn Ball of Brewster, OH; sister, Ella Murphy of Marion, OH; 43 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 21 at 1:00 p.m. in the Newton Baptist Church, Newton, with the Rev. Ron Fisher officiating. Burial will be in the Boggs Family Cemetery, Newton. Friends may call at the church two hours prior to the funeral.

John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, is in charge of arrangements.
