| Doris Ford Holpp, 91, of Wilkesboro, NC died Monday, August 18, 2008
at Villages of Wilkes Skilled Care after a short period of declining health.
Born on June 25, 1917 in West Union, WV she was the daughter of Glenn Levi
and Susie Seager Ford. She attended Upshur County West Virginia schools and
graduated from West Virginia University in 1940.
A. C. Holpp, her husband of more than 60 years, preceded her in death.
During their time together they made homes in Romney WV, Waynesboro and
Pearisburg VA, and Wilkesboro NC.
Mrs. Holpp is survived by Leah Margaret "Peggy" Ballard and husband Bill of
Wilkesboro NC, Joe and wife Patsy of Statesville, NC and Mary Beth Phillips
of Wilkesboro.
Grandchildren are Martha Barnes and husband John, Shawna Stroud and husband
Brian, Stacy Holpp, Adam Phillips, and Anne Phillips. Great-grandchildren
are Mary Ruth and Brittany Barnes.
A family memorial service was held Monday evening at a favorite spot on the
Blue Ridge Parkway. Inturnment will be at Mountlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home on
Wednesday, August 20 from 6:00 until 7:30.
